Backofthehouse.ca is an Ottawa based business that is made up of industry oriented professionals. We care about food, restaurants, cooks and farmers and have varied backgrounds from programming, horticulture and cuisine.

We have found that there has always been a disconnect between kitchen labour and the jobs that are out there. Most of the employment opportunities in the past have been found through word of mouth. We want to continue that industry tradition... we're just changing the format to the digital age (word of mouse).

The resource page is populated by as much local substance as possible, from food distributers to equipment suppliers, to the small farms that cannot offer a website of their own. We have information on Ottawa health department updates, apprenticeship news and Red seal information - even international resources. We have tried to list as much information as possible to make your busy lives a little easier.
